Susan Dockerill
Susan Dockerill is the founder of Life Works Parenting Tools and the owner of Life Works Resource Center in Stuart, Florida. Her mission is to improve the quality of people's lives through education. Ten years of teaching children in public, private, and military schools at home and abroad, plus 17 years teaching and mediating with parents and teachers has given her the expertise to speak frankly about marriage, divorce, children, and being responsible for living the life of your dreams. Her style is up-close and personal. She entertains everyone who attends whether she is speaking in a jail or to a church group.
A Washington State graduate with degrees in Education and Child and Family Studies, Susan has a specialized Adlerian background in discipline. She is a graduate of Driekurs Relationship Center: Us Attitude, Understanding Yourself and Others, and Loving Yourself and Others. She is certified through the International Network for Children and Families and teaches Redirecting Children's Behavior, Redirecting for a Cooperative Classroom, and Parent Instructor Network Training. She is also certified in Conscious Discipline by Dr. Becky Bailey to teach Ten Steps to Positive Parenting. She custom fits programs to meet the needs in schools, jails and corporations that want to be more effective. Her program is currently the most successful program being used in the Re-Entry program, sponsored by the Children Service Council of St Lucie County, at the Rock Road Correction facility. Once a week she empowers women in prison to take back their lives and focus their energy on what they want for themselves and their families. Her programs have had a direct impact on the ricidism rate.
Susan and her husband Guy are certified Positive Divorce Resolution instructors and currently teach in the 19th Circuit Court. Completion of a family stabilization course is required by the state of Florida prior to divorce. Susan is a divorce coach who believes strongly in a collaborative approach to a peaceful resolution where the children's needs are considered first.
Personal growth work and the experience acquired as a wife, mother, teacher, and community leader are the backbone of Susan's success. Life Works Foundation collaborates with community resources whenever possible to provide free classes for people who can not afford services.
Susan Dockerill is willing to travel around the world to share parenting tools and certify others who are passionate about making a career out of helping people.
